Commercial Drone Licences

Why You Need to Be CAA Certified

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) are the governing aviation authority in the UK. Individuals and organisations within the aviation industry must therefore have recognised licences, permits and approvals for operation. If you do not hold CAA certified permissions, you may be dangerously and illegally operating your UAV.

Until you are A2 CofC or GVC certified by a Recognised Assessment Entity (RAE), you cannot legally operate certain types of drones.

Drone Pilot Training Course

About our Course

Our GVC course comes in two phases: the online theory course & the theoretical and practical examination. In addition to the course content, you also receive operations manual support, and CAA GVC application support.

Our A2 CofC course is an online theory course with three modules, Meteorology, Flight Performance and Operating Principles with a formal theoretical exam upon completion.

The content of the GVC online theory is separated into 8 modules:

Air Law / Responsibilities, Aircraft Knowledge, Meteorology, Flight Safety Airmanship, Safety & Operating Procedures, Navigation / Charts, Human Factors, and UAS Airspace Operating Principles.

Following the theory exam, you will also be expected to complete a practical flight assessment – primarily safety focused and to test your flying skills.

We will provide you with close support leading up to the assessment, and provide guidance documents so nothing will come as a surprise to you.

Should you happen to fail the assessment, we will debrief you and offer you a further opportunity to re-sit the exam the same day, at no extra charge.
